Description
Tomás de Torquemada, Inquistor General of Spain from 1483 to 1498 is the most widely known individual leader of the Spanish Inquisition. Though he did authorize torture as a means to this end, historical study has shown that Torquemada's life and practices were not as extreme as his legacy has portrayed them to have been.Actions
